Common Concerns & Specialties
-
While some amount of anxiety in your life is to be expected, feeling constantly on-edge, overwhelmed, or anxious can make life feel like an unrelenting, steady stream of worry, and the pace of modern living can make finding calm and balance feel near impossible. I help clients to address anxiety by better understanding it, confronting it at its roots, and developing anxiety management skills to reclaim control of their lives.

Relationships are the bedrock of our lives, and yet so few of us feel prepared when challenges emerge within them. Issues like conflict and rejection may leave you feeling disconnected, isolated, and craving for connection, even with those you count as friends and partners. I help clients and couples to feel less alone, more connected, and more satisfied through the development of deeper, more meaningful relationships.

Few of us received a primer on our emotional health growing up, despite being intricately emotional creatures! As a result, you may feel lost and overwhelmed by your emotions, and you may find it difficult to effectively connect, cope with, and use them as sources of information for understanding yourself and navigating your life. I facilitate emotional exploration to help clients attune to and more effectively manage and utilize their emotions.

Perhaps the only true constant in our lives is our selves— and yet for many of us, the way we feel about ourselves can be pretty bleak. You may find it hard to be alone with your thoughts, ruminate over even little mistakes, or feel altogether worthless much of the time. I help clients to cultivate greater self-insight, self-compassion, and self-esteem to improve how they feel about themselves and to find the confidence to tackle life’s challenges.

Unrelenting sadness and depression can hang over you like a fog and make even day-to-day tasks feel impossible. We all have good days and bad days, but when the bad days begin to outnumber the good, you may begin to feel hopeless. I help clients to address their depression and lead more meaningful lives by helping them get to the root of their hurt, heal long-standing wounds, and rediscover the joy life and their relationships have to offer.

What it means to live life as a queer or trans person has changed dramatically in the last few decades, though many continue to face discrimination, family rejection, and difficulties with outness that require support. Others simply find they prefer working with a queer therapist who just gets it. Either way, spending less time explaining your identity means more time spent working to address your concerns and feeling better, sooner.
